Cuadro de texto: Maintaining sustainable development in perspective is our company commitment; therefore, we have implemented in our production process, high value environmental practices, harmonically integrated with the use of advanced technologies focused on preserving the soil, the quality of the air and water as well as preserving the forest resource.
Our main environmental strength is the continuous increment in the use of recycled paper to manufacture our products.
Environmental benefits for paper use and recycle cards can be pointed out in the following table:
1000 kilograms of paper needed to be produced from:

Tree-Virgin Fiber
Recycled Fiber
Savings
Wood from 17 trees have been planted for industrial purposes
Wood from 2 have been planted for industrial purposes
Wood from 15 have been planted for industrial purposes. (88,24%)
Liters of drinking water: 440,000 liters.
Liters of drinking water: 176,000 liters.
Liters of drinking water: 264,000 liters. (60%)
Electricity: 7.600 kw/h

Therefore, we have two Recycling Plants for printing and writing papers, which process is “Destined to flotation”. The main Deinked Plant is at the I/E/E Paper Division and has a current capacity to produce 3500 tons of recycled/monthly fiber. The second Plant is at the Hygienic Division, with a production capacity of 2800 tons of recycled/monthly fiber.
A processing and cleaning system for recycling “brown” (packaging) papers and cards at the I/E/E Paper Division is installed, with a production capacity of 6000 tons of recycled/monthly fiber.

To treat industrial liquid effluents generated from the production process, we count with modern and efficient systems.
Each of our Divisions has its own Industrial Liquid Effluent Treatment Plant. To know in detail the system used by each of our divisions, click that of your interest.

We work under the protection of the “Three R’s (RRR)”: Reducing, Recycling and Reusing.
All waste materials generated in our production processes are conducted under this policy.
The “mud” or solid wastes from Primary Liquid Effluent Treatment Plants are used as “loan” material or filler in the Municipal Dumping Site available.  Thus, when covering urban wastes with paper mud, which are biodegradable, non-toxic and non-harmful, we help control insects, rodents and birds of prey.
